LinkedIn email - BEWARE !

Hi, one of our team has just received an email apparently from LinkedIn asking him to confirm his email address - the email included a link to follow to do so.

Luckily our antivirus software blocked him accessing a "malicious" nasty site -
PHEW !!!
It has been confirmed by the LinkedIn Privacy Team that this is a known fraudulent mail.  LinkedIn say " To fight against fake emails putting our domain names in the “From:” line, we’ve implemented DMARC standards (http://www.dmarc.org/) authenticate all our emails. We suggest you contact your email administrator to implement DMARC so they can discard unauthenticated emails too."

We suggest if you receive such an email then DO NOT follow any link unless ( maybe ) the text body includes your name ( like eBay/ Paypal do ) - but better still access their normal site independantly via the web.  Please do not rely on your anti virus to stop these attempts to capture your important data or damage your business.

If you want to see the email concerned to pre-warn your people, please email support@excelogy.co.uk and we will forward at your risk.

OR IF YOU WANT TO LEARN HOW TO AUTOMATE THE PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF YOUR MANAGEMENT / FINANCIAL REPORTSTHEN PLEASE ASK ABOUT OUR FREE SEMINAR PROGRAMME.
